Quick tips for effective searches
1. Shorter is Better: More words mean less results. Also refrain from using filler words like for, and, the, with, etc... Some examples of good and bad searches are:
-
Bad Searches
- 4.5" lift kit for a 2004 Ford F-150 1/2 Ton
- 1.50 inch shackles for 1994 Jeep Wrangler YJ
- Roof rack for a 2007 Jeep JK Wrangler Unlimited with a soft top
-
Good Searches
- lift kit 04 ford
- shackle jeep wrangler
- roof rack 07 jeep
2. Use Short Year Range: Due to the database limits on keyword length, and many parts fitting several years, we are forced to enter parts using short years.
-
Examples
- Search for 91 Jeep instead of 1991 Jeep
- Search for 04 Wrangler rather than 2004 Wrangler
3. Search Term Varriation: Sometimes, it won't be worded as you typed it. Sometimes a word might be singular when you are typing it plural, or as one word instead of two or words as two. A good example would be soft top; one word like softftop or two words as soft top.
