These steering arms are designed for
custom steering applications where it is necessary to move the tie-rod
to the rear of the axle. This is often necessary on such vehicles as
Chevy trucks and Jeeps where the steering box location has not been
moved forward. In these applications, interference can occur using a
standard “high-steer” setup. Some applications where these arms fit
great are: Jeep CJ, Jeep YJ, 73-87 Chevy, or Toyota mini truck. These arms fit kingpin style Dana 60 front axles. They are designed to slip over the existing sheetmetal kingpin caps. They are also designed to be held down with studs and tapered nuts. We do NOT suggest using bolts. If your axle already has 4 studs and tapered nuts holding the factory drivers side steering arm down, you may re-use those. In that case, you will only need to purchase one stud kit for the passenger side. The tie-rod holes are tapered to fit large Chevy tie-rod ends. (ES2234R, ES2233L, ES2010L, ES2010R, EX2234R, EX2234L) The draglink hole is tapered to fit large, double pivot, Chevy draglink ends. (ES2026R, ES2027L, ES2027R) A 10 degree angle is also machined into the end of the arms. Remember, you will need two factory sheet metal kingpin caps. Be sure to purchase an extra cap if you are removing a factory steering arm on the drivers side.
